I like cement as a material. If well it is not a sustainable material (in terms of the energy needed to produce it, process it and then get rid of it), it is a very durable material and I also would like to explore being able to work it in a very delicate manner.
Talking to some of the tutors, they mentioned LimeCrete, which basically works as a cement/ concrete alternative, and it is environmentally much better. I will be getting a bag of it to try it out.
In the meantime, I have been experimenting with adding things to the cement. I am doing this, in hope that it will make it more flexible and avoid the glass cracking when the cement contracts.
I tried some other ones with glass and paper as aggregates. Will try pouring it with glass tomorrow.
I am also going to try doing new moulds.
