Yesterday was an odd one.
After going in the morning to find that my glass had done nothing in the kiln for about 8 hours, I felt pretty low. Even more so, considering that I am having my formative assessment today!
Considering it is probably the first time I didn’t leave things until last minute, they didn’t turn out very well anyway.
I HAD A BREAK THROUGH!
AND IT WAS GREAT!!
I kept thinking about the glass I had surrounded with the concrete.
I needed to find a way of making it look better, because that meant I could possibly take together into a square lampshade.
Think I am on route to it.
I then pretty much repeated the same process. I did make another mould to help me speed up things.
Also tried “terrazzo-ing” one of the sides. It sort of worked. The cement might have been to watery and it swallowed the bits of glass.
I tried to take as much out with the knife. I think if it was polished it would look good.
