Today I feel like I can finally write the first post of the next 4 months.
The whole experience of moving here has been bitter sweet.
Two other girls from Fine Arts also choose to come to Venice to do a term. So when we started looking for accommodation, we found an apartment with three rooms. Long story short, we ended up putting the deposit and the first month of rent for the house. After three weeks of not hearing anything from the “person who owned the house”, we came to the conclusion it had been a scam. INDEED IT HAD!
No point crying over it now. I think in general, my intuition is pretty good. I should have stuck to it.
Arrived to Venice on Sunday.
Leaving Jack in London was very painful. It hurt. But to know that I will see him in a months or so, keeps me going.
FIRST THOUGHTS: BEAUUUTIFUL!!
It think it is already strange enough to have to jump on a boat to get to your destination. But considering I had not had much sleep the days before leaving…IT WAS SOMETHING ELSE.
I stayed for a couple of nights in a hostel before moving to the new house. I am sharing a bed with one of the girls from the uni.
The first day at the uni was very disappointing. We got there not knowing a lot of what our modules were or anything. We went to speak to the Erasmus coordinator and were told that the only day we could speak to her was Thursday (and it was Monday). But as the days have gone pass, things have got a little better.
We have had to approach the lecturers and ask if we can join their class. This because we are coming in on the second term and some courses have already started.
This will continue for the next two weeks. Then start the lessons.
I am looking at Decoration (6?) for one of the modules and Mosaic techniques (4) for a second one. Since we need to make 20 credits, I think ill take Design (8)
First post. Trying to get things in order. Will keep posting 🙂
