We did this a couple of weeks ago and I really enjoyed it.
We started the lecture having a chat with Duncan (head of my choice of Field module). He walked us trhough what we were going to be doing for the lesson. PLAYING!
He showed us techniques about slip decoration and the pigments that were available to us on the day.
We worked on terracotta. Rolled out a good amount of it and then I cut it into “tiles” so I could try different things.
Playing with the terracotta was a lot of fun. Mainly because I am trying to lose the fear of “trying” and “playing” with materials. That is the reason I chose to do this option of field (Synergies between materials and technologies).
